Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Fits my phone perfectly and looks fantastic.
The full title of this is "The Horse's Ass Painting: a Self Portrait." (The Title field won't accept apostrophes, colons or ampersands.) I see this as a regretful yet tender and loving look into my own soul and spirit. The little dog-creatures give me wise advice, the rearing horse trumpets a warning to think before I speak and act; and in the end, I think, the horse's butt in the entry-arch is just THERE, saying that, no matter what, we just ARE.
My Art Blog https://eileenadelehaleartblog.blogspot.com/ The two primary areas of my art have been: 1) my personal art, and 2) animal portraits (and sometimes human portraits) on commission. My personal art ranges from fairly pure abstract work - dynamic, restless and shifting, full of motion and emotion, in watercolor, oils and collage - to work that combines figurative, abstract/abstract expressionist and surrealist styles in the same painting, with a dreamlike mix of content. I love color and flow, and I think my work is energetic, and graceful and refined as well as boisterous, naive, playful and clumsy. My vision is to bring many viewpoints together, in a harmony that is not too settled a harmony; I love the counterpoint as well as...

Magali, Kevin and Michelle - thank you for your enthusiastic words! Yes, I am a fan of Chagall, Kevin - and immensely flattered that you see a resemblance to his work! It's not something I'd thought of, or been trying to do, but if I did connect with any of Chagall's flavor and style, that pleases me a lot.
Michelle Spiziri
this is a beautiful painting and meaning behind it. great self portrait. great work!
Kevin Callahan
I am overcome with your kindness. I just love this painting... and of course the title reeled me in. Are you a fan of Chagall? I see a bit of him here.

Thank you so much, Scott! Everyone, if you haven't seen Scott's work, check it out - it's amazing! Beautiful inlaid woodwork, among other things. Yes, Scott, I do write as well as painting. Mostly some poetry - occasional chapbooks - sometimes a lot of journal writing, dreams, and a lot of other miscellaneous stuff including emails, which I tend to enjoy...

Eileen Thanks very much for your kind remarks. I enjoy your work and was most impressed by your verbal skills: "In the country of my work, I don't strive for a single official language, or ethnic purity. I welcome a cast of thousands, immigrants from all over. When all this comes together, the result I see is a vivid aliveness in the painting." This is wonderful imagery. Do you write as well as paint/draw? Scott Reuman
