Sarah, The color is magnificant! The subject is priceless! The emotion is beyond words! The heart crys out as the humans dishonor what beauty which was given to us out of love. I hope we open our eyes and hearts before it is too late.

Sarah King replied:

Our love for the earth will endure as long as we have hope and care.

Sarah, Another beautiful piece of art, the colors are so soft. This must have been a magnificant tree. I feel the longing to walk out, touch and be with it. Its spirit lives on through your painting. I appreciated what you wrote in your description. It is so heartbreaking to see this kind of destruction.

Sarah King replied:

Thank you for your feelings and thoughts we both share.

Artist's Description

This amazing Eucalyptus Viminalis sits on the hill behind my home. I often visit this tree stump and remember the times that I had when a young girl sitting on the shoulders of my uncle walking through a tall eucalyptus forest, and smelling the leaves when they wiped across my head. Sadly today 50 years later, that forest is gone forever. Now where I live, every day log trucks rumble past my front door shaking my house. The heartache I suffer from seeing these trees go by cannot be expressed. I can imagine how indigenous forest dwellers feel when they see there place of living, there home, being clear felled. Stop! It must stop now. This is violating the rights of the children and all life of the future. Tipping the balance of biodiversity causes unrepairable problems such as blue green algae, water pollution and down stream devastation. They have not got it right. The only way we can save our earthly havens is to stop now and plan ahead, down size and think globally ac locally. Be su...

Artist Statement: Sarah King Glass Gallery http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/ The beautiful 'Gondwanaland' fauna and flora in the 'Tasmanian Rainforest' has highlighted its perilously fragile future. I am concerned about the loss of indigenous species and biodiversity due to human intervention and the onslaught of Government and Industries. All small invertebrates such as mayflies and butterflies of the Gondwanaland rainforest have survived here, for more than 65,000,000 years. I believe the past event, over the last 200 years, is the climax of global warming due to our lifestyles and land uses. The plantations that are now growing here were planted specifically for pulp to send to the Japanese for the production of their...
