Impressive painting! L/F Congrats on your sale!

Jane, love the pure joy on this boys face, being so happy in something most of us take for granted. Wonderful work of art. L/F

I love this too! It makes me think of the book, Angela's Ashes. The kids have shoes that are nailed together by the father, and barely stay on their feet and flap when they walk. That's how they would have felt getting a new pair of shoes. The best thing in the world! l/f

The photograph sparked an outpouring of clothing and other donations for the orphanage in Vienna. ~~ Quote from Life magazine; When a big box from the American Red Cross arrived at Vienna's Am Himmel orphanage, shoes and coats and dresses tumbled out. Like the youngster pictured here, the children who had seen no new clothes throughout the war smiled to high heaven!
