I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

A lone oak stands sentinel over a small marina in the Low Country of South Carolina. The tree, with curls of Spanish moss hanging down, shines brightly against the nighttime sky, lit by a hidden spotlight at its base. Thus, the shape of the tree looms over land and sea.
The water, and the boats that populate it, are in the shadows of night; the sky is dark, but clear. There is a wooden boardwalk between the tree and the water; its hand rail forms a geometric pattern across the midpoint of the image, with landscape lighting at regular intervals. Along the boardwalk, tucked in underneath, marsh grass wets its toes in the shallows of the water.
Deeper water is in the foreground of the shot, dark, with streaks of reflected light. And parallel to the boardwalk is the dock, with small watercraft tied up to it. At the far right of the scene, a metal gangway juts out from the end of the boardwalk, leading to the dock.
Both foreground and background are dark -- shade...
I've always loved looking at nature, drifting along with the ever-changing clouds, stopping to smell the roses. God's creation gives an abundant and ever changing variety of subjects for me to capture. I enjoy photographing all of nature, from the wide vistas of mountains and valleys, right down to spiders, butterflies, and dewdrops. I bought my first camera, a Canon AE-1, in 1979, and practiced and experimented and asked questions. I still ask questions and read blogs; but I've never taken a formal course or workshop. I switched to digital in 2000, which allows more experimenting, with instant feedback, so I can correct a shot immediately. My current camera is a Nikon D-90, with a 28-300 and a macro. Although I'm digital, I don't use...
