Artist's Description

This drawing invites the viewer to imagine what the underwater environment of a coral reef might look like from the point of view of one of its denizens. Anything that seems to have eyes might be alive and watching you this very moment; the question is, is that smile friendly or hungry? Surprises small and large are lurking everywhere. A manic sun emanates waves of restorative energies which gradually take on a colder character as they descend into the unfathomable depths. The world of the reef is confusing, bright and ever-changing.

About Wendy Hagelgans

Wendy Hagelgans

Not very effective as an Earthling, this mobile organic observational unit is continually thwarted by chemical antagonisms, human social gibberish, spontaneous metaphysical upheavals and gravity. With great effort and strain it is gradually able to churn out images reflective of its own aesthetic intentions. The styles it seeks to express fall within a contrasting continuum from the dry and realistic to the colorfully melodramatic. It will find and make more of its pictures to add to this site later.
