This painting, loosely based on Michaelangelos' Pieta, is an expression of the universal sentiment of the sorrow and grief relevant to all religions. This is the 4th stage of the work in progress.

Erik Slutsky

Erik Slutsky's paintings can be found in public, private and corporate collections worldwide. In over 50 exhibitions, his work has been shown in Canada, Germany, United States, France, Switzerland, Israel and Cyprus. This well known Canadian artist was born in Montreal, Canada. He is of Russian, Jewish origin. His family emigrated from Odessa in 1911, first to New York and then eventually settling in Montreal. His Great-Grandfather founded the the first Russian bakery there, The Odessa Bakery, around 1913. Slutsky is known for his brilliant use of colour, the dramatic and sometimes controversial content of his work and his impressive technique in handling paint.
