Artist's Description

The Trumpet - Original Photography by Karol Livote A trumpet is a musical instrument. It is the highest register in the brass family. Trumpets are among the oldest musical instruments, dating back to at least 1500 BC. They are played by blowing air through closed lips, producing a "buzzing" sound that starts a standing wave vibration in the air column inside the instrument. Since the late 15th century they have primarily been constructed of brass tubing, usually bent twice into a rounded oblong shape. There are several types of trumpet. The most common is a transposing instrument pitched in Bth a tubing length of about 148 cm. Earlier trumpets did not have valves, but modern instruments generally have either three piston valves or, more rarely, three rotary valves. Each valve increases the length of tubing when engaged, thereby lowering the pitch. A musician who plays the trumpet is called a trumpet player or trumpeter.

About Karol Livote

Karol Livote

Inspired by the world around me, I am sent out to capture moments in time, that I hope can find another's soul, the way it has captured mine! Karol Livote My story is quite simple. I was about ten years old when my sister gave me my first camera. I took right to photography. In my high school days, I was hardly seen without a camera in my hand. I participated in Photography classes and had my own darkroom at my home. Over the years, I have kept up with my photography and I continue to promote my images thru publications and sales. My greatest love is nature and all is has to offer, however, there are times I will focus on other subjects, as well. Main Website:
