Karen Wiles captured the mountain river fun in "Those were the Days" within the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The majority of those swimming are children of the Great Cherokee Indian tribes who still remain there today. Those who are lucky enough to enjoy those splendid summer days will surely never forget the wonderful memories and the fun... The people who live in the mountains try to beat the sweltering summer heat and usually know of a great swimming hole tucked between the mountain hollers. The cool and clear mountain water refreshes and invigorates all whom splash and swim in these pristine mountain streams and swimming holes.
