Here is another "mask" from the aforementioned mask exhibit, that happened in September of 2007? at the 119 Gallery in Lowell, MA with Noredin Morgan. This one has various types of Burkhas, mostly covering everything but the eyes. It functions as a "mask" for the project because it disguises the wearer and hides the face.
Debra Bretton Robinson grew up in Plaistow, NH and received her degree from the Mass College of Art in Boston. She and her family reside in MA. Debra is now a participant in the vibrant Lowell, MA art scene. Her acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors. Most of her work is done "en plein air" or on site, outdoors. Frequently her scenes are painted while on her “floating studio”, her husband’s boat, while he fishes. Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement.
