About Arturo Miramontes
Arturo Miramontes was born in Momax, Zacatecas Mexico, moved to U.S. in 1972 and became a U.S. citizen in 1985. He moved to Hammond Indiana in early 1976. Being a family man as well as working a full time job Arturo still manages to make time to paint not only throughout the week, but also on weekends. Arturo studied under well renowned artist Mohamed Drissi, later venturing out on his own to pursue his own identity and art direction. He developed his own realistic and symbolic style of studio oil painting interpreting Mexican-American history and the Chicano experience in the United States.
