July 16, 1969, 9:30AM: Roughly a minute after liftoff from Launch Pad 39A the Saturn V Rocket carrying the crew of Apollo 11 (Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins) begins their historic mission to be the first to land on the Moon. This image is to capture the spirit of the flight with the moon being added for effect and the launch trajectory altered for drama. Digital rocket with painted background. From the Quinn collection. His work is mostly known by box cover art on aircraft model kits made by Revell and Monogram models, for whom he has done over 150 images. While the main body of his work revolves around aviation subjects, he is also creates art in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Genres, with his strength in spaceship design and environments.
