Thank you, Lois, for your kind words and inspiration !

Fabulous sense of depth and range of tone in this beauty, Dan. Fascinating subject as well I love how you handled the angle and composition. l/f and t

Thank you, Joseph - Thank you, Jeff for your comments and encouragement !

Outstanding! I love this place. A really well done shot using available light.

It's not easy to get a good shot, much less a great shot, in Spencer in the round house, but you have done very well here. The unit on the right, if I am not mistaken, is a former Piedmont & Northern electric locomotive. Still not sure if I am going up there for the huge railroad event at the end of this month.

I love this photo! I'm fighting to rationalize calling a roundhouse a "station" to keep it in my "Sitting in a Railway Station" contest because I like it too much to pull.

Dan Carmichael replied:

Thank you, Darin. I appreciate your compliment. However, I would advise you to stick with your principles. When uploading it I had the same question. The integrity of your contest is more important than any single image.

I normally don't like HDR, but really works well here Dan, well done! F/V/P

Wow! I have walked thru this round house for years and you got that shot that I have missed seeing for looking. Forest and the trees thing. Beautiful shot! Hats off etc. This was called the Spencer Shops before it became a Museum. The Southern Railroad closed it down over a dispute with the town of Spencer and started packing to leave when they returned to the Shops after that meeting, in 1961.

Great capture, love the curve of the building! v/f
