Artist's Description

This Clay Basket is made from Hand Thrown Clay, Basket Reed and Raffia. The entire piece measures 3 1/2" tall by 4 3/4" wide. The clay was left in it's natural color and high fired. The top of the bowl is hand woven in a short lip, to accept the basket lid. The basket lid is woven by hand, and features a "Turtle in the Pond" pattern. All the weaving on this Clay Basket is done in a Skip Stitch. This clay pot was thrown by me in 1999, and then woven. It is signed on the bottom. If you are interested in this Clay Basket, please feel free to contact me.
