On a chilly overcast day in late May, I spotted some Canadian Geese resting on the bank at a pond in Cody Park (North Platte, Nebraska). Using my 400mm telephoto prime lens, I quickly discovered that there was more than I realized. Mom had her goslings huddled under her wing to provide them shelter and warmth.

I never did get a total head count, but I'm sure there is probably four or five goslings in the huddle. Dad was standing several feet away and keeping a lookout for possible intruders.
