"Under the Pier"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Gazing out to sea
very early in the morning,
the beautiful color of dawn
is captured here
before the sun comes up.
A long exposure
melts the surf
into a reflective pool,
shiny with the early morning
colors of the sky
and shows the slow movement
of the beautiful clouds
on the eastern horizon.
The waves are captured in interesting swirls around the legs of the tall fishing pier, catching the golden sunlight glow as a surfer readies himself to dive in with his board to ride some waves at dawn.
