A very powerful image, Jane.

Thanks Christopher.

A very powerful image, Jane.

Great Shot and composition

Great shot! Very apocalyptic! I'm from St. Louis, you're brave to venture through there! L/F!

Great capture, Jane. Really like the composition, perspective, and tones in this shot.

This just in, St. Louis ranked 2nd most dangerous city. Detroit beat St. Louis. If the CNN poll took into account the suburbs of St. Louis, we would rank much lower on the dangerous city scale.

Great place to take photos.

Abandoned buildings feel alive and on some level, I am sad when they get preserved. I want them to grow old gracefully. This image is of the Cotton Belt Freight Depot, a five story warehouse built in 1913 and located in North St. Louis, MO. This depot was once the hub for southern cotton. Off in the distance you can see the Arch.

About Jane Linders

Jane Linders

My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. Prints for sale in my Etsy shop too: http://www.etsy.com/shop/jalinde I am fascinated by the unpredictability of Polaroid transfers and I love the freedom of...
