Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

Perfect! I wish that you'd included a translation of the two inscriptions in some ancient language that are above the shoulders of St John Coltrane. It would cost your company virtually nothing to supply this with the picture.

You see this blight all over Venice. Kind of shocking. Not what you would expect in Venice land. But what a glorious sunset.

Great capture, Ira! I love the stark colour contrasts brought out by the rays of the setting sun. Unfortunately the heat gets to your feet. This lady might also have had a few blisters, if her choice of footwear was one of style rather than practicality. The ugly graffiti by mindless vandals is a blight on our society. I remember first noticing it at the age of about seven and hearing the perceived wisdom of the day that these so called graffiti artists were really more sinned against than sinning and, even at that young age, was aware of the derisory punishments handed down by the courts. Calling somebody who damages something beautiful an artist is just plain ridiculous, as art is by its very nature creative, not destructive, Also it encourages them to do more of the same. If somebody renders something unfit for use by defacing it or destroying it, it is tantamount to theft and the punishment should reflect this. I would hope that this mindless "artistry" is the work of local undesirables and not tourists, though the behaviour of some of them on holiday might well reflect their behaviour at home.

Yes Kathryn, graffiti is distressing. I saw a lot of it in Prague last September. You would like to think that beautiful faraway places are free from it. But no. I don't think tourists do this. Often its done by angry immature youths with no inner sense or care of what they are doing. A lot of people feel a disconnect with the world. They feel a what the hell attitude. Lack of connection to spirit. Fear, emptiness, no purpose. A kind of nihilism. It's something we discover in life or we don't. Blessed are they that feel that connection.
