About A paul Cartier
In 1977, I returned from a three month tour of Mexico, Central and South America, with 25 rolls of Kodachrome and black-and-white film – and an incurable disease. The Grip of Photography was to control my life from then on. It grew worse as I studied photography at City College of San Francisco, graduating in 1980. From then on, I worked in a camera shop, free-lanced, printed, got published, did clinical photography, and worked at the International Fund for Documentary Photography. I also showed work, often experimental, in various venues over the years. Awards: October 2014, "Dark", juried show, Arc Gallery, San Francisco. June 2012, SFPUC Water Dept.
