Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

Artist's Description

This is one of the celebrants at the 20th Annual Tribute to Our Ancestors of the Middle Passage. It was held on the boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York at the site where some of the earliest slave ships once docked. This annual tribute is in remembrance of the tens of millions of Africans who, after being kidnapped from their homeland, died during the Middle Passage – the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean, and North and South America.
The tribute began twenty years ago as a storytelling event conducted by the late Dr. Mary Umolu, a noted African storyteller born in Virginia of Southern and Jamaican heritage who became chair of the Department of Mass Communication, Creative & Performing Arts & Speech at Medgar Evers College. The Tribute’s mission, she always said, was to educate people about what happened during the Middle Passage, to give them a fuller understanding of what their ancestors endured.

Kendall Eutemey

I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I have been interested in photography for the last 20 years of my life and I am rarely seen without my camera hanging off of my shoulder. That is how I was able to combine my two passions into one. I love taking sunset and landscape pictures and then using the most vibrant and vivid colors that I can imagine. I also have been involved in producing some corporate and hospitality art that you may enjoy. I hope that you will enjoy perusing my photo gallery as much as I enjoy taking them. I come from an artistic...
