Ox carts pulling loads of sugar cane ready to be weighed, before unloading at the sugar mill. At the mill the cane juice is extracted, boiled and processed to produce dried cane sugar. Cuba was a major sugar producer through the 19th and 20th centuries. This photograph was taken around 1904.
