Kenny, Stop again with these cute paintings! I am thinking you have had many shoes "chewed up?" You did a great job on the puppy's eye! You really captured that "guilty" look. I think you should enter this one, and that other painting.. that dog with the boot, into FIRST STAR's ... GUILTY CONTEST... Did I tell you this already? You will probably win, maybe I shouldn't say that.. lose my chances to win! hehe.. Kidding.. I guess I am not just not that competitive of a person.Anyways.. thanks for your kind words about my Cheerleading coons! You made me laugh again. Yes, I am a secret COON WHISPERER.. and I have all sorts of skills that I do to train those coons.. I'm working on teaching them how to do Jumping Jacks... and after that CARTWHEELS.. hehe.. FV.

Kenny Francis replied:

Thanks so much, Amalia!

Kenny, Excellent painting, love the expression on the dogs face as he is struggling to get the shoe lace. You cannot help but notice those amazing eyes and how detail you have made them. Great foreground work love the details of the grass and the sneaker but yet everything still stays with the dog without taking away from the whole painting. Excellent job, voted, tweet, google and FB promoted

Your comments and promotion are greatly appreciated, John!

Artist's Description

An oil painting of my last dog, as a pup.... a Chow Chow mix. He was a great dog, loved to play, and would have given his life to protect me. Chow Chow is a type of breed originally from China, where it's name means puffy-lion dog. The bread is know for a very dense double coat. The coat may be red, black, blue,cinnamon/fawn or cream. The breed is distinguished by it's unusual blue-black/purple tongue and very straight hind legs. One other distinctive feature is the curly tail. It has thick hair and lies curled on its back. The blue-black/purple tongue gene appears to be dominant, as almost all mixed breed dogs that come from a Chow Chow retain the tongue color. Most commonly kept as pets, Chow Chows tend to display discernment of strangers and can bedome fiercely protective of their owners and property. Recent DNA anaylis confirm that this breed is one of the oldest dog breeds. Research indicates it is one of the first primitive breeds to evolve from the gray wolf. Please fee...

About Kenny Francis

Kenny Francis

I started getting serious about photography in the mid seventies. It took me a while to switch from film to digital, but now I'm a total convert. I've painted off and on for most of my life with oil and acrylics, so I can't resist the temptation to turn a lot of my photos into digital paintings. I also love color, and like to really make it "pop" sometimes. I'm a Florida native now living in the mountains of Georgia, in an area known as the Enchanted Valley. There is plenty of beautiful scenery and interesting things to shoot. I plan to...
