Artist's Description
Whitebark Pines Creekside Sierra Nevada 11000 Feet, the creek flows between two lakes. This is early fall in the Sierras. Spawning trout were in the creek. The trees are Whitebark Pines, Pinus albicaulis, and they mark the timberline in the Sierra Nevada. For food, the Clark's Nutcracker, a bird, collects and caches their seeds in the late summer and early fall. This scene is at about 11,000 feet.

My camera's with me, and I stay alert for pictures. I'm keeping it simple and digital. Then I interpret the image using controls available with a simple software program. I do not use "canned" filters like "watercolor effect", for example, to do this. I like to surprise my self. Since the light is always different from photo to photo, the interpretation is rarely repeatable, and visually,I try to work in what I'm thinking, reading, seeing, and feeling. My photographs are copyright protected under United States' law, are not in the public domain, and I reserve all rights for their use.
