The original is color pencil and pencil on 100lb Bristol smooth acid free 14x17 acid free paper sprayed with lacquer to reduce fading. The airplane shown is that of Major General Edward B. Giller, one of the P-51�s he flew during WWII named after is wife �Millie Giller�. It is often mistaken as �The Millie P�; it is actually a lower case �g� and properly named �The Millie G�. General Giller was born in Jacksonville, Ill., in 1918. He graduated from Kemper Military School, Mo., and from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering in 1940. After graduation he worked in Houston, Texas, for the Sinclair Oil Refining Company as a chemical engineer. In September 1941 he entered active military duty and entered flying school. He earned his pilot wings and commission as second lieutenant in April 1942 at Lubbock, Texas. During World War II, he served in the European Theater of Operati...
