Description

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

This image, Woman in Chains, was initially created for a Spadecaller video on YouTube and was inspired by a hit song by the British band Tears for Fears. Lyrics were written by lead singer Roland Orzabal. The song is about a woman trapped in a relationship with a bullying, possessive man. The subjugation of women and the reviling of feminine characteristics creates violence and limits individual freedom in our society. Whether its equal pay or equal say, the women in our world are too often exposed to gender bias and abuse. Roland Orzabal explained his motivation for writing this song: "I was reading some feminist literature at the time and I discovered that there are societies in the world still in existence today that are non-patriarchal. They don't have the man at the top and the women at the bottom. They're matricentric - they have the woman at the center and these societies are a lot less violent, a lot less greedy and there's generally less animosity... but the song is also ab...

In the late 1950's, I started my formal training in traditional oil techniques. I was eight years old. To this day, I owe my appreciation to my mother, who has since passed away. Through considerable personal sacrifice, she nurtured my artistic talent and provided me with the tools and circumstances to begin my creative journey - the journey that I am still on. I cherish the memories of the art exhibits and museums that we visited in Manhattan. I later attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71).
