Still shot from the 1929 German silent science-fiction film Frau im Mond, or Woman in the Moon. This is considered to be the first 'serious' science fiction film, as it was the first to present complex scientific theories to the public. Frau im Mond was written and directed by Fritz Lang (1890-1976) and premiered on the 15th of October 1929.
