Artist's Description

This is the rooftop of the 1967 Hyatt Regency in Atlanta's Midtown. This John Portman designed hotel was the first to feature a full atrium, which has since become a fairly common feature of hotel towers today. While the atrium inside is impressive, it's not that piece of architecture that has stuck with me after years of being in and around the old Hyatt. No, it's the beautiful saucer on the roof that I will long remember. I wish I had ever had the opportunity to go inside as it's been closed for several years now. Once upon a time, this saucer stood at the top of Atlanta's skyline. I'm told in the 1960's and 70's, this was the place for lunch in Atlanta, a place where movers and shakers in the city were seen. In the decades since, the skyline has grown up and the expansive views of the cityscape have been lost, but it's still a futuristic beauty isn't it?

My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
