I took this while walking my dogs in Lake Cascade State Park. It seem to be very interested in my two Boston Terriers. I had to make some noise and hand motions to scare it away from the two dogs. It seem like it was in a stare down contest with my two dogs. One morning the young fox even came into our camp looking for some food. I was told that she had 2 young foxes in a den a short distance for the State Park.
Red foxes are social animals, whose groups are led by a mated pair which monopolises breeding. Subordinates within a group are typically the young of the mated pair, which remain with their parents to assist in caring for new kits. The species primarily feeds on small rodents, though it may also target leporids, game birds, reptiles, invertebrates and young ungulates.
