About Bonnie Hanly

Bonnie Hanly

During my busy career as a business executive, I managed to attend a few art classes at the Art Insitute of Chicago and the Morton Arboretum which inspired me to want to become an artist. My goal was to retire early and have the luxury to study and paint at my leisure which I have enjoyed over the past ten years. I began in watercolor and now paint primarily in oils which I love for the texture, color and brushstorkes. My subject matter varies including portraiture, still life and landscapes, and my style tends to the impressionistic emphazing the use of color and light. I have studied with Peggy Taylor in Asheville and Susan Sarback in California who both teach in the style of the Cape Cod School.
