I am an architect and private pilot, living in Tyler Texas and I enjoy photography, drawing and sketching, art, design, technology, fishing, target shooting and so on. I had a plastic camera as a small boy and have, ever since I can remember, been very interested in photography.
At the end of 2015 I was bought out from my architectural firm by my two ex-business partners and retired from full-time work. I am using my photography to supplement my income and I enjoy getting away to scenic spots and I shoot all sorts of subjects, landscapes, portraits, objects, action, macro, plant studies and so on, mostly spontaneous as I find them with very little setup or posed work.
I use my DSLR's like I used my film SLR's, i.e. when I am shooting, I walk around and think about the shot, composing it in my mind then shooting it. I don't do what so many seem to do today with their DSLR's, i.e. a shotgun approach, takings hundreds of images, hoping to get a few good ones. I enjoy using the digital ability we have today but don't allow it to destroy the art of photography. I do most of my shooting alone when I can take my time but, I especially enjoy it when I am able to take a friend with me, of like-mind, who approaches it in the same manner as I do.
