I once considered myself an artistic topographist, navigating the picture plane with my fingers,because I thought I had to. For years after I started to lose my eye sight, I didn't feel confident in my work unless my fingers stayed directly connected to the surface of the canvas. Now, I chose to challenge myself to paint using a more ‘fluid’ and loose technique. I enjoy the successes I have found in my experimentation.
