Jekyll Island Georgia
The southernmost island of the Golden Isles, Jekyll Island has a rich history. The Island was settled by the British in 1733 and was home to several prosperous plantations until the end of the Civil War. In 1886, by a group of wealthy families as a private retreat. The Jekyll Island Club membership included the Morgans, Cranes, Rockefellers, and Goulds and represented over one-sixth of the world’s wealth.
