Jayne Howard has been an artist and photographer from a young age. Born and raised in East Sussex, England, Jayne originally trained and worked as a graphic designer and reprographic camera operator, where she developed a critical eye for detail and design. The English countryside and coastline inspired Jayne’s love for nature. To capture the beauty of her surroundings, she taught herself to draw, paint and develop her own photographs in her father's darkroom.
In 1991, Jayne moved to the US and was introduced to interior design and decorative painting. Honing her skills alongside many talented faux finishers and accomplished scenic artists, she collaborated on projects in fine homes, restaurants, and businesses, most notably a project in the Ralph Loren Manhattan store, which was later published in Architectural Digest. She also works extensively for the telecommunication industry, including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and others, where her skills at custom color matching and mixing have been sought out to camouflage cell phone antennae and equipment that are mounted to historical building facades in New York City, the boroughs and beyond.
For the past 15 years, Jayne has been mastering all forms of decorative painting. Her talents have been featured in countless projects for interior designers and customers throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Jayne continues to develop her artistic skills in photography, offering unique fine art prints, portraits and architectural photography to her clientele. After meeting her husband Bill, a painting contractor, on a project in 2003, they combined their skills and now own Jayne Howard Studios based in Fairfield, CT, specializing in decorative wall finishes, painted surface treatments, and high quality interior painting, including color consultation, mixing, and matching.
Jayne recently began exhibiting her work locally. Her photograph ‘Acceptance’ was awarded Best in Show at the Wilton Library Focus ‘12 Exhibition, with an honorable mention given to another. Jayne also exhibited at the Southport Library’s, 2012 Fine Art Show.
Jayne Howard joined Fine Art America on August 5th, 2012.
