Welcome! I hope that you see images that move you. My artist mother taught me to paint when I was a child, and I always knew that I would enjoy and share the world in a visual and tactile way. Perhaps like you, I have many different interests. Mine tend to converge in the mind and heart. I am often more interested in a sensation of thought and experience than just 'making pretty things' (as I was told once that I should stick to doing instead of voting). If you enjoy what you see here, please consider signing up for my art newsletter on my site at: http://BorsheimArts.com There are past issues online to make sure you know what you will be getting, usually only 6-8 times per year and not just about my work.
I create figurative sculpture (stone and bronze, primarily), paintings, murals, and drawings. I love the figure, but also want to put that figure in an environment to share a story with you. Nature and my own life experiences are the biggest inspirations.
I was born in 1964 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and raised primarily in Germany (before I learned to speak much German, sadly) and central Florida before moving to Texas for university. [I studied mathematics and English. Only after I was 30 did I seriously study art again.] I ended up living in Texas for almost 30 years. Now, I find my life in the mountains of Tuscany, Italy, but of course, I still return to Texas and many other states when I can. Thank you for being a part of this artistic journey and exploration of emotion and Nature.
