'My work reflects my internal, spiritual response to the ancient land and sea, ancestors. I work a great deal with internal processes, particularly dreams and journeying, all of which informs the work I create.
My aim is to manifest visually the crack between the worlds, therefore much of my work represents the twilight, the hidden, the imagined. To this end much of my work is to do with exploring death and impermanence.
I believe imagination to be more important than knowledge. Real knowing cannot be spoken about, only experienced. I invite the observer to move in, to explore the image and see beyond the immediate. It is my intention to express and satisfy the yearning within us all to come home to spirit, to connect with what is lost, to remind us of what really matters, spirit of place.
I am moved and uplifted by wild landscapes, big skies and roaring seas, high mountains and wind-blown moors. Here I lose my small sense of self and join with something bigger.
Marie is an artist and writer who lives and works in Leicester where she has a studio. Her passion for Creativity Coaching is about process not product - the aim is to assist the client to get in touch with their innate creativity and find a way of manifesting it. She uses Art Journaling as a way deepening the relationship with the inner creator and listening to the intuitive voice within.
