Growing up in the rolling hills of Missouri, I've traveled to most states in the U.S. and painted along the way. I love being in nature and try to visit state parks along my travel routes. I work mostly in my studio, using field studies and photo references pulled from places I have visited. In creating these works, I sometimes embrace, sometimes abandon color theory while building an ever growing alphabet of marks that represent foliage, trees, buildings and the sky.
