Michelle Bentham is an Inspired Artist and Communicator. She first dabbled with a pencil and sketchpad as a preteen before taking a year of art in high school. She dropped out of art in high school but continued to design and create as an expression of her unique God-given gift. In 2006, after the death of her son, Michelle picked a brush and put her hand to acrylic paints on canvas for the first time. The results amazed both the artist and those around her. Since then, she has been on a journey with God discovering the beauty of His creation as He reveals it to her through His heart and His Spirit. She has had work commissioned by Marriage Today and private collectors. She volunteers as a prophetic artist in the healing rooms at Gateway Church in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Her artwork ranges from pencil sketches to full size original mixed media and acrylic works on canvas. Her creative talent stems from and is inspired by the depth of relationship she has with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Her passion is to see God's people connected to the heart of God through Creative Expression. The hallmarks of her paintings are vivid color, light/illuminated effects and mixed media dimensions. Her paintings are unique, colorful and meaningful. They communicate beyond words and find their roots in Scripture. She will often find inspiration in the people around her and has been giving paintings away for several years as gifts to those around her.
Her friends in the art community have described her work as a 'born again' Georgia O'Keefe and as having a positive 'haunting' quality. The haunting being that the images strike at your heart and stay with you long after you've stepped away from them. Add one of her unique pieces to your collection today!
