Ruth King began studying art in her teens with her neighbor, Merice Richner, who taught oil painting classes weekly. Then at UAF, in Fairbanks, Alaska, Ruth studied art formally for 4 years. She painted on her own for decades afterwards, slowly evolving her painting style from realistic to more abstract. She sold hundreds of her original paintings online during this time. In the last two years, she has discovered the joy and power of Photoshop and combining her paintings with photos she has taken. more
