Lisa Lewis was born in Yonkers New Year on December 16, 1959 to Jeffrey and Glenda Lewis. She was a bright child, always quick to catch on to mathematical concepts and in her very early years expressed an interest in drawing and painting. As an athlete she was a strong swimmer, and at age 9 began to win medals in County swim championships.
