Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I am a self taught artist, who has drawing for around 25 years, mostly in charcoal, and graphite. Over the past 7 years, I started moving more into color, and away from my usual medium of charcoal, and graphite, and started using pastels to do my landscapes. Four years ago, I entered my first juried art show with one drawing, and it was the first time that I had sold one of my artworks. The following year, I won my first award, Honorable Mention, which was another first for me. I have been fortunate to have at least one of paintings, or drawings, sell at the show, which in turn, gave me confidence to continue with art.
As I continued to work more with color, I discovered a program on my Kindle called Sketchbook. As I experimented with the app, I found it more, and more easier to match the colors I was going for. I got the program for my computer, and found myself working more with digital painting, than I did with traditional materials. I would have to say, that 95% of my work is now being done digitally.
For my style of paintings, that is something I experiment with everyday. I try to stay, and think, outside the box. Its a fine balance doing work that you think will sell, and doing work that you enjoy painting.
