In January 2015, I visited Hobbiton in Matamata New Zealand and took a variety of photographs. This is a collection of digital art based on that photoshoot. These images depict the mythical land "The Shire" from the epic fantasy "The Hobbit" and later "The Lord of the Rings" written by English philologist and University of Oxford professor J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien's books were later adapted into a film series directed by Peter Jackson in his native country New Zealand. This collection includes numerous enhanced images from the movie set, as well as flowing hand-chiseled outlines and brushed on color of the exotic Japanese wood-block printing art form known as Moku Hanga. I hope you enjoy them.
