Manuel J Gonzalez was born in Matanzas, Cuba in the early 1960s. In the latter part of the decade, he emigrated to the United States with his parents and sister. Raised in New Jersey, he has lived in New York City, Miami, Tampa and is currently a resident of Spring Hill, Florida. A precocious child, he began taking pictures at age seven with a pocket camera he received as a gift from his parents.
