I studied textile design in Liverpool, England but now live in the small fishing village in south east Spain. I am interested in the culture, landscape, life and colours of the country which have influenced my work for the last few years. My two main areas of interest are portrait painting in soft pastels or acrylics, and depicting the symbol of the Indalo man, on all types of media including canvas and local pebble stones. Spirit of the Indalo

This collection of paintings was inspired by my continuing interest in the symbol of the Indalo man. This mystical figure, which was discovered as a cave painting in southern Spain, is represented in many forms of art and craft in the area and is a common sight on buildings and roadsides. To create my collection for Spirit of the Indalo, I took photos of local landscapes that featured the Indalo or photos through my 'magical Indalo globe' and then created digital paintings from them, particularly concentrating on colour and texture.
