Thank you for visiting my site! I am creating much more art since retiring from teaching a few years ago. Various subject matter intrigue me, ranging from landscapes to interesting close-ups, to my favorite, animals. I'm an environmentalist, gardener and animal lover, and evidence of those loves are visible in my work. I paint in acrylic, and always draw inspiration from my rural surroundings or my travels. Trips to France and Holland have reinforced the influence of the Dutch Masters' and Impressionists’ portrayal of light on my own work. But beauty can be found in our own backyards, and traveling in Canada has inspired a variety of scenes too!
I have done many successful commissioned pieces of pets and other scenes in the past, and particularly appreciate how they can bring such lasting joy to others. I believe that good art comes best through our inspiration, and it connects us with our own passions.
