António Gomes was born on the 07th of January, 1968 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. Since 1999 he has been living in Praia, Cape Verde.
This country provides many of the themes that inspire his photographic work. António began working in advertising 4 years ago and his photographic material was used to promote events, companies and Cape Verdean artists.
In 2009 he participated in a collective exhibition of Cape Verdean contemporary photography. He won a prize from Voice of America Radio Lusofonia, while representing Cape Verde.
His themes of interest are the urban landscape, the everyday life in Cape Verde and their its cultural features which are truly worthwhile to register and work on.
