Kent was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Growing up on a farm, he learned to hunt, fish, horseback ride, and love the outdoors. After spending 35 years in the mountains of Virginia, Kent and his family moved to Colorado where he has made his home for the past 30 years. Kent has been creating beautiful artwork his entire life and uses many of his experiences as an outfitter, sportsman, and cowboy for his subject matters.
Kent began painting with oils at the age of six. He took up wood-carving in his early thirties and won a first and second place prize with his first two carvings at the World Wildlife Sculpture Competition. He completed his first bronze during the summer of 1997 and has created 24 sculptures in bronze to date. Currently all of his limited edition bronzes are closed out but he would be honored to create a special edition or commission for your personal or corporate pleasure.
Kent has developed his own unique style in wood, bronze, and on canvas. His understanding of anatomy, attention to detail, and meticulous color applications bring a striking realism to his work. Kent enjoys western, wildlife, and inspirational subjects; however, he welcomes commission work in other areas.
