Joseph Michael Vidal
Michael Vidal was born in Arlington, Virginia and moved to Florida when he was seven years old. He started drawing at the age of two and he was diagnosed with autism at age three. His art includes charcoal sketch, oil, and acrylics. His art is often symbolic of his thoughts, dreams and feelings. He enjoys creating program covers, logos and book illustrations. Michael believes everyone has a purpose and a talent. He is one of the Founding members of Artists With Autism, Inc. He continues to inspire and mentor other artists with autism to achieve their goals and is a volunteer at the Autism Art Gallery in Pompano Beach. Michael gets his inspiration from animation and comics. He describes his art as “simple, but has its unique blend of culture and surrealism and have been exhibited at several public and private events around South Florida, internationally, and in printed publications. Michael graduated from FAU with a degree in graphic design. What he like most about creating art is that it brings something to life from his imagination. Creating art has helped him to realize that art can become used as a language for the real world. His big dream is to become a cartoonist, inspired by his mentor and best friend Al Baruch former Disney animator.
