Barry Nelles (1933-2003) was a master print maker. While in his twenties Barry worked as an apprentice under comic book artist Tom Gill in New York City. This period included working on the Lone Ranger and Cheyenne comic books. He also worked on the Archie comic book. After marrying my mother Mary Lou Nelles, and moving to Connecticut, he began a long career as a middle school art teacher in East Hampton.
