Baya Clare was born in Missouri in 1959, and later spent 16 years living in Colorado. She has been in Minnesota since 1986, and a Sister of St. Joseph (a Catholic nun) since 1998. In addition to her work as an artist and writer, she teaches art and spirituality in several prisons.
