BENCH PROJECTS is an artist-led public art platform that rents advertising space at AC Transit bus stops to create Ôbench galleriesÕ in North Oakland. The project commissions artists to create new site-responsive work and encourages community members Ð including public transit riders, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers Ð to engage more deeply in their surroundings.
