I was born in Washington D.C. I grew up as an only child. I spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. I've been taking pictures all my life, I can't believe how many old photographs I have. I never realized that photography one day would save my life. About a year ago I was diagnosed as suffering from clinical depression and I probably had been depressed for years and just thought how I felt was normal, because for me it was. I was on my third marriage and that too was in trouble. I had a beautiful daughter who really was the only thing that kept me alive. I found myself depressed, lonely and financially struggling. A year earlier I had purchased a Nikon P500 for my wife as birthday present, I started pursing photography just as a way to stay sane and coup with all of the turmoil in my life. I found an inner peace as I began to take more and more photos. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the shadow of Mount Rainier, one Saturday morning in September 2012 I set out to take pictures of Mount Rainer, little did I know that trip would change my the direction of my life. I never did make it to Mt. Rainier but ended up at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge mainly to use the restroom. I happened to see a sign about a free photography class that day, since I didn't have anything to do I decided to sit in the class, it was a two hour class, with an additional hour of hands on instruction. That was the beginning of discovering a new passion, a new purpose. I try improving my craft regularly, if I could afford too I would do photography as a full time career, I hope that can happen one day. Until then I plan on exploring, learning and discovering all that photography can offer. I love being outdoors and taking nature and landscape photos. I have had some amazing adventures so far trying to capture wonderful shots and memories I look forward to continuing and hopefully I can capture moments that people one day will purchase as art. Thanks for stopping by, lets take this journey together.
